Supervision and Education
One of the greatest gifts a new therapist can give themselves is choosing an internship that is truly the right fit. From a developmental perspective, it is important to remember that there is an optimal learning environment-one that offers a "just right" balance of support and challenge. Although you have completed years of schooling and likely read countless books in preparation for this transition, emerging from graduate school is often still a period of immense learning and growth as each person settles into this next phase of their professional identity.
Supervision Offering
At Somatic Therapy, we intentionally create an environment that fosters meaningful learning. We thoughtfully craft our training setting with your unique needs, strengths, and growth edges in mind. We emphasize a balance of challenge, connection, and growth, frequently utilizing present-moment processing and bottom-up strategies to support both clinical development and personal integration.
Providing supervision and supporting new therapists' growth is central to Jessica’s work. She offers an open, supportive environment with clear and healthy boundaries, prioritizing your development as you find your own therapeutic voice. Supervision emphasizes learning from the “bottom up” rather than the “top down,” with a strong somatic and nervous system–informed lens. Jessica draws from training in Interpersonal Therapy, EMDR, EFT, PACT, SE, and mindfulness-based approaches to inform her supervision and feedback.
